India Women look to build on their dominant start as they face Netherlands Women in the 10th match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Headingley, Leeds. Coming off a comprehensive 64-run victory against arch-rivals Pakistan, India enters the contest as heavy favourites. Deepti Sharma, fresh from her match-winning five-wicket haul, and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, who hit a fluent 68, will lead the charge. However, the team will target greater batting consistency after skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and opener Shafali Verma failed to fire in the opener. Pacers Arundhati Reddy and Kranti Gaud will also search for early breakthroughs in English conditions.
The Netherlands, led by Babette de Leede, are seeking a bounce-back performance after a narrow four-wicket loss to Bangladesh. Despite their opening defeat, the Dutch side showed immense resilience. All-rounder Robine Rijke and bowler Iris Zwilling will remain central to their plans as they face a formidable Indian line-up. While a victory looks like a steep mountain to climb for the associate nation, the match offers them a massive platform to cause an upset, while India will eye a big win to boost their net run rate in Group A.

Headingley Pitch Report
The surface at Headingley, Leeds, is expected to offer a balanced but challenging contest for this afternoon fixture. Under typically cool and overcast English conditions, fast bowlers will find genuine swing and bounce early in the powerplay, making survival a primary test for the top-order batters. However, once batters weather the initial movement, stroke-making becomes significantly easier on a surface that allows for good value on shots. As the game progresses into the middle overs, the track tends to slow down slightly, offering purchase and grip for spinners. History heavily favours setting a target here, as chasing gets notably tougher.
