Fans Go Gaga As Finn Allens Explosive Century Takes KKR To A Dominant Win Over DC In IPL 2026

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 continues to deliver high-octane drama, and the 51st match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi was no exception. On the evening of Friday, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) delivered a masterclass in clinical cricket, dismantling the Delhi Capitals (DC) on their home turf. In a contest that saw momentum swing sharply in the first half, it was the ‘Finn Allen Show’ that ultimately stole the spotlight, as KKR secured a massive 8-wicket victory with 34 balls to spare.

Disciplined KKR bowling halts DC to a modest score

Winning the toss and electing to field, KKR’s bowling unit executed their plans with surgical precision. Delhi Capitals started with intent, as Pathum Nissanka played a lone hand of brilliance, smashing 50 off just 29 deliveries. Alongside KL Rahul (23 off 14), the Capitals looked poised for a massive total, reaching 49/0 in less than five overs. However, once the opening stand was broken by Kartik Tyagi, the wheels began to come off for the hosts.

Anukul Roy turned the tide in the middle overs, finishing with impressive figures of 3 for 12 in his four overs. His ability to extract turn and bounce stifled the DC middle order, accounting for the dangerous Tristan Stubbs and a well-set Nissanka. Sunil Narine was his usual parsimonious self, conceding a meager 17 runs in his quota while picking up the wicket of Sameer Rizvi.

DC’s struggle was evident as they slumped from 74/1 to 89/5. Ashutosh Sharma (39 off 28) provided a late flourish to bridge the gap, but the discipline of Tyagi (2/25) and Vaibhav Arora ensured no late-inning explosion occurred. Delhi eventually crawled to 142/8, a total that felt significantly under-par on a Delhi surface known for rewarding aggressive stroke play.

Finn Allen’s blazing century powers KKR to a crushing win over DC in IPL 2026

If the first innings was a battle of attrition, the second was a blitzkrieg. KKR’s chase began precariously as they lost skipper Ajinkya Rahane (13) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (1) within the Powerplay, leaving them at 31/2. However, what followed was one of the most destructive displays of hitting seen in IPL 2026.

Allen, brought in as the Impact Player for Varun Chakravarthy, played an innings for the ages. The New Zealander reached his half-century in 32 balls, but then shifted into an unstoppable gear. Alongside Cameron Green (33* off 27), Allen dismantled the DC bowling attack. Mitchell Starc and Kuldeep Yadav were shown no respect as Allen cleared the ropes with ease, striking 10 towering sixes and 5 fours.

The momentum was so fierce that KKR raced from 50 to 100 in just five overs. Allen reached his unbeaten century in just 47 balls, bringing up the milestone and the winning runs simultaneously in the 15th over. His strike rate of 212.76 left the Delhi crowd in awe and the DC bowlers searching for answers.

With this win, KKR bolsters their position in the standings, while DC faces a tough road ahead. For his record-breaking effort and 116.97 MVP points, Allen was the undisputed Player of the Match, reminding the world why he is one of the most feared openers in the shortest format.
