Warriors: 3 moves to make after the NBA Draft

The Golden State Warriors didn’t have a ton to do in the NBA Draft after winning the title. Now that it’s done, they do have work to do in the offseason.

Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green restored the Warriors dynasty this year by delivering another title to Golden State.

However, they didn’t do it alone. Steve Kerr’s squad proved itself as so much more than the core three with contributions from up and down the lineup.

Now, the challenge is to keep the team together in hopes of making yet another championship run.

Re-sign Kevon Looney and Gary Payton II

Golden State has two big unrestricted free agents hitting the market in Kevon Looney and Gary Payton II. After playing key roles in getting the Warriors a championship, bringing them back should be priority No. 1.

The Warriors have already made noises that they fully intend to give Looney a new contract, especially after his playoff contributions. Investing in the 25-year-old Looney for the present and future makes complete sense at this stage.

Payton II has also earned himself a deal as a valued defender and critical role player.
