Nets Initially Asked for Brown and Tatum in Durant Trade, Per Report

The Brooklyn Nets initially asked for both Boston Celtics’ stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum in a potential trade for Kevin Durant, per a report from Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe.

Celtics’ President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens swiftly declined the deal, as well as further attempts to include Marcus Smart in Jayson Tatum’s stead.

It’s been reported that the Celtics offered Brown, Derrick White, and a first-round pick – but the Nets declined.

Some pundits scoffed at the notion of trading Brown, 25, for the disgruntled superstar Durant, 33; which makes the report that the Nets asked for Tatum too absolutely ludicrous.

The Nets are building towards a major inflection point with training camp just around the corner.

Twelve-time all-star Durant has formally requested a trade.

Seven-time all-star Kyrie Irving has been mentioned in trade rumors with the Lakers.

Three-time all-star Ben Simmons, who hasn’t even played a game for the Nets, could suddenly become the face of the franchise.
