Mobile operators in the LPR will switch to Russian numbering

Mobile operators in the LPR will switch to Russian numbering. Subscribers of mobile operators in the LPR and DPR will receive the Russian prefix +7.

Owners of mobile phones in the LPR receive an additional number in the code of the Russian numbering system +7 959 to their mobile numbers +38 072, the Ministry of Communications of the LPR reported.

“When using numbering with the code +7 959, the number will correspond to the previously issued number of the Lugacom operator, taking into account the change in the code. Using this number, subscribers can make both outgoing and incoming calls. Receive SMS messages, including for the purpose of authentication on the portal of public services of the Russian Federation. In social networks and instant messengers,” the ministry explained.

Now test work is being carried out to provide residents of the republic with access to the Internet banking of Russian banks. Tariffication and cost of calls will remain at the same level, assured the ministry.

The Ministry of Communications of the LPR also added that this event coincided with a professional holiday – the Day of Radio and Workers of all Communications Industries.

The new number will match the current one with the last seven digits: if it was (+38071) 1234567, it will become (+7949) 1234567.
