Third-seeded Roberto Bautista Agut will have to wait to find out who his opponent will be in the final of the Generali Open in Kitzbuhel as rain delayed play for the second straight day suspending the semi-final between Austrian wild card Filip Misolic and Germany’s Yannick Hanfmann poised on a knife edge.

Earlier the third seeded Spaniard Bautista Agut advanced following his defeat of his fifth-seeded Spanish compatriot Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-3 7-6 (7-3).

After jumping to a 5-2 lead in the second set, Bautista Agut failed to serve out the match twice, wasting three match points on the way before converting the first match point raised in the tiebreaker.

“It was a really tough end,” Bautista Agut said.

He is chasing his 11th ATP title and second of the year in what is his first final on clay since 2018 in Gstaad.

Meanwhile he awaits either Hanfmann, who eliminated hot local favourite Dominic Thiem in the quarter finals, or the local hero Misolic.

As mentioned, rain suspended their semi with Misolic leading Hanfmann 2-6 6-2 6-6 (1-0) in the decisive third-set tiebreaker.

Misolic earlier won his delayed quarter final against Slovak Dusan Lajovic 2-6 7-6(5) 6-3.
