Baynes was in hospitals in Tokyo and Brisbane for nearly two months last summer as he learned to walk again. The 35-year-old played 9 seasons for 5 teams, including the Spurs and Celtics. He averaged 6.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in 522 regular-season games. He won 1 NBA championship.
