Jurgen Klopp has jetted into Liverpool to celebrate with fans ahead of the club’s final match of the season where they will lift the Premier League trophy.
The German is returning to Liverpool for the first time since the end of his glistening nine-year spell in charge of the club and will watch from the stands at Anfield as they take on Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Arne Slot’s side sealed their second ever Premier League title last month but have been made to wait until this weekend to lift the trophy itself.
Club legend Alan Hansen, returning to Anfield after being hospitalised with ill health, will hand the trophy to captain Virgil van Dijk after the match.
The celebrations will continue on Monday with an open-top bus victory parade through the city.
Players and staff will be cheered on by tens of thousands of red fans, including Klopp.

The former boss, who won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup at the club, touched down on Friday for a Liverpool charity foundation gala.
In a video message, posted on the club’s X account, Klopp said: ‘It took me a year to find my way back. But now I’m here.
‘What a weekend ahead wow. I heard that the city will be buzzing. And I will see it from a different perspective, from a very good perspective, from your perspective.
‘I told you on my last day from now on I will be one of you.
‘At the weekend I will try to be as much of it as much as you let me.
‘Congratulations for last season. Fantastic, I enjoyed it so much. Congratulations to the team and Arne [Slot] especially. What a guy and what a coach.
‘So yeah let’s have the best weekend of our lives so far.’

Klopp, who works for Red Bull as the Head of Global Soccer, led Liverpool to their first Premier League title in 2020 but was unable to celebrate with fans due to the Covid pandemic.
Meanwhile, asked on Friday if he could see himself remaining at Liverpool for as long as his predecessor, Slot said: ‘I could see it, yes. There are not many managers that stay at a club for nine years because nine out of ten times the board or someone at the club isn’t happy any more.’
