Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois Wembley rematch is delayed as major boxing show is

Oleksandr Usyk‘s undisputed heavyweight world title fight against Daniel Dubois has been delayed, as per an announcement.

The former defeated Tyson Fury in May last year to unify all four heavyweight titles before vacating the IBF belt, which is now held by Dubois.

The fight was initially set to headline and take place just hours before the July 12 Ring Magazine fight card, which will feature Edgar Berlanga versus Hamzah Sheeraz, and Shakur Stevenson versus William Zepeda in New York.

Usyk versus Dubois will still be held at the Home of Football in London on a Saturday night.

However, the date of the rematch has now been rescheduled by a week and will take place on July 19 instead, as per Ring Magazine. 

Despite the WBO ordering Usyk to enter negotiations with Joseph Parker for a mandatory title defense, the Dubois fight is still expected to be for the undisputed heavyweight crown. 

Usyk – who beat Fury for a second time in December 2024 – was eyeing up the winner of Dubois vs Parker as his next opponent.

Dubois withdrew from that fight due to a reported illness, and Parker went on to face and defeat Martin Bakole in Saudi Arabia.

Following that fight night, Usyk began discussions with Dubois, who became the more appealing option as the current IBF titleholder.

Usyk previously stopped Dubois in the ninth round in Poland in August 2023, but Team Dubois were left frustrated by the result.

They felt wronged after a body shot that dropped Usyk was ruled a low blow earlier in the fight.

Dubois was ringside in Riyadh as Usyk defeated Fury at the end of last year and stepped into the ring afterwards to make his intentions clear.

Crashing Usyk’s post-fight interview, Dubois said: ‘Well done tonight. I want my revenge for the robbery last time. Let’s get in here. Let’s go.’

Asked by DAZN presenter Ade Oladipo about a potential rematch, Usyk simply replied: ‘No problem,’ before smirking at the camera.
